3 reasons for you to become a constant learner?

If you had to teach your kid only one thing or one human value what would it be?

This was one of the questions asked by Ranveer Allahbadia to Jaya Kishori ji on his show that I was recently watching on YouTube.

And her answer was KEEP LEARNING, it does not matter if you win or lose.

In this information age, with a lot of options for everything in life, it’s easy to get swayed, confused, overwhelmed and anxious.

Everyone in this world including you and me wants to have an extraordinary life, and it’s possible only if one knows that it requires conscious actions towards all important dimensions and areas of life everyday.

Areas such as emotional, mental, spiritual, physical health, career and finances, quality of life etc.

And having it all requires basic knowledge about all dimensions of life which our school system does not teach us.

Concepts of money, meditation, decision making skills etc are not explained in schools but it’s up to us to become aware of them and start exploring them.

So if you want to become extraordinary in life you must become a constant learner.

There are many benefits of becoming a constant learner like:

  • It builds trust in other’s eyes for you.
  • It helps you become financially abundant in your niche.
  • Boosts self confidence.
  • Helps you take charge of your life etc.

Here are the top 3 reasons to become a constant learner.

To become extraordinary

Success on your own terms is possible only if you keep evolving and growing exponentially.

Change and transformation in you that makes you so vibrant, fierce, confident, happy that you even start infusing it into everyone around you.

You need to become aware about yourself and about the fact that in order to build the habit of constantly learning you must know some facts and basics of all important dimensions of life.

Jon and Messy Butcher have explained it very well through their lifebook program.

In the lifebook program there are 12 important categories of life.

First section of the lifebook is about ‘Personal Life’ which contains 5 categories.

  1. Your health and fitness
  2. Your intellectual life
  3. Your emotional life
  4. Your character
  5. Your spiritual life

Second section is about ‘Relationships’ and it contains 3 categories.

  1. Your love relationship
  2. Parenting
  3. Your social life

Section 3 is about ‘business life’ and it contains 2 categories.

  1. Your financial life
  2. Your career

Section 4 has one category that is

            ‘Quality of life’

Section 5 is about the last category that is ‘Your life vision’

In order to become extraordinary you need to acquire the knowledge about these categories, discover your own beliefs, codes and preconceived notions about these categories.

You might also need to disrupt the old beliefs if it requires and recode your mind to become the best version of yourself.

Our current Indian education system is capable of creating diligent and sincere employees that are knowledgeable about specific academic subjects.

But their dreams are very predictable, based on convergent thinking, they are trapped in a bubble where they literally can’t see their innate potential and immense possibility of what they can achieve.

Hence Most of the intelligent, hardworking and knowledgeable Indian students end up serving as an employee of a company they don’t resonate their foundational values with.

It’s awesome if they found a company whose organisational values are aligned with their values and purpose. If the company is contributing in the same field as the employee wants in a sustainable manner then it’s a match made in heaven.

But it can only be found if the student is aware about his own values and for that he needs to become a constant learner.

To thrive and not survive

Living life as a human is a gift, and Experiencing it on survival mode is  a waste.

Whether you want to become an artist or traveller you will have to learn the skill to excel at it.

People in today’s era are interdependent on each other, you can’t thrive by becoming totally independent or dependent, technology has connected the entire world and it is our constant learning and sharing of knowledge that has made this connection and communication possible and easy between counties and within a country with different culture, language and traditions.

To stay up-to-date with technology of your niche

Renovation of technology is happening every day, and in order to stay on top of your field requires continuous efforts in your field.

Constant learner has all the information updated in his software. You need to stay aware about the latest trends, information, new research, new inventions and discoveries in your niche or field.

Key point

Constant learning or continuous learning is not about becoming a voracious reader or book worm, it’s about picking the positive lines of people, understanding the positive perspective of people and their paradigm in every situation and learning through it.

Its not just about academics and subjective study.

“Constant learning is all about keeping a learning attitude about all aspects and areas of life and acknowledging all learning opportunities that life creates for you”.

You can choose to learn from anyone who is better than you in something you want to become good at, so never hesitate to ask a question.

All the best.
