Critical Thinking: 3 proven tips to improve it.

Do you love crime thrillers and murder suspense series or movies?

Why am I asking this question? Well you will find out soon.

In the era of digital and information age, people are prone to get influenced by the entertainment industry to an extent that they don’t even recognise how it’s affecting their life.

Your reality is formed by your feelings, imagination and visualisation.

And your thoughts determine your feelings.

You manifest what you constantly think and feel.

And how you think depends on what you see, hear and listen to.

And hence the type or genre of movies that you like to watch has a lot to do with how you think and behave.

How to think independently?

How to learn anything?

How to grow exponentially in all dimensions of life?

What is money and financial abundance?

Above are some questions that are not addressed in the course of a standard education, many intelligent people are completely dumb founded about such questions?

So what is critical thinking?

Are you indecisive or a good decision maker?

If you are any of these two, I am telling you your paradigm is about to shift about it.

So your thoughts are ideas that are produced by the process of thinking.

Conscious thinking with deliberate analysis of the information is called critical thinking.

Analysis depends on two things, first is how you perceive what you see, hear and read, second is your awareness about the universal laws that define everything.

Let’s break it down

So it’s a universal truth that your thoughts become reality.

If you are aware about it and if you know that thoughts are a result of thinking, you will definitely start focusing on the quality of your thoughts.

Thoughts are created by the thinking process > thinking happens with transfer of signals between neurons ( Transmission of information) > transmission happens after when nerve cells detect, recognise and perceive information received through senses > how you recognise, perceive and detect information around you depends on your knowledge, wisdom and awareness.

Therefore your analysis depends on your knowledge and awareness.

So how can you develop and improve critical thinking?

So if you make calculative decisions, think logically without being influenced by what others think and don’t regret the consequences of your decisions then you are a critical thinker.

Here are some tips to improve your critical thinking

3 tips to improve critical thinking

  1. The Principle-Centred paradigm

This is a concept from the book “7 habits of highly effective people” by Stephen R.Covey.

There are some fundamental principles and natural laws in the human dimension that are as real as the laws of gravity in the physical dimension.

These principles are not religious but if you study history you will find them obvious in all social philosophies and ethical systems.

Examples of such principles are integrity, honesty, dignity, liberty, fairness.

So let’s take one example and understand deeply.

It’s a fact that a child or a teenager can learn a skill faster and can even grasp the concepts easily, if trained properly.

Whether it’s riding, a language, cooking, painting etc.

And you are willing to learn to ride scooty in your 40s or 50s, you are supposed to take the decision like when to start the classes and find a coach etc.

People around you will start giving advice, that it’s not the right age or you already have the car just hire a driver blah blah blah!

And if you are aware about the basic principle of growth and potential which says that it’s possible to grow and develop any talent at any age in your life and learning a new skill makes life even more happening and fun.

Your decisions after considering everything like your schedule, your awareness about the principle, your knowledge about your own top values of life, your budget, facts etc.

You will be able to make right decisions in life.

The process with which you did this is called critical thinking.

So first of all learn about the natural laws and principles that govern human life.

Make a list of top 5 principles that are most important to you and make decisions according to them, like whether the result is in alignment with the law but consider all  the laws as they are universal and unchangeable.

2. Journaling

Writing gives more clarity than just reflecting upon your thoughts.

Write down what decision you want to make, write all the questions that are coming to your mind around it, write their answers according to the principles, write about advantages and disadvantages of making all possible decisions and you will become more and more confident about your final decision.

3.Work on your intuition

Your instincts never lie but understanding them requires you to work on your intuition.

There are certain meditation and sound healing techniques that helps to unblock the hidden and infinite potential of your pineal gland or third eye chakra which makes your intuition, focus and concentration power so strong and your critical thinking ability also.

Decisiveness is not a talent everyone is born with, it’s a skill to learn and work upon.

Critical thinking is just a smart and calculative thinking process and with the help of the above 3 tips you can improve it.

You just need to learn about principles, analyse the facts related to the topic, need to do a small self introspection and Journaling and work upon your intuition and you are on your path to become the best decision maker and adviser of  your family.

All the best.
